Tuckers wool scourers. The business became the largest scouring plant in Hawke's Bay. Richard Tucker (11 January 1856 – 15 December 1922) was a New Zealand wool-scourer and wool-classer. A hydro-extractor can be seen on the right. Despite marrying a Quaker in an Anglican church, he appears to have been a practising Presbyterian, and later became an elder in the Havelock North Presbyterian Church. He was born in Auckland, New Zealand in 1856. Edward Tucker, Chris’s great, great, great grandfather arrived in New Plymouth from England with his family aboard the William Bryan in 1841.
